It is sad to see what the sports world is dealing Minnesota fans these days. It started with Us giving away David Ortiz for nothing and he turns into an every year all star, MVP, clutch World Series champion for the Red Sox.
Now Randy Moss has joined him. After being a baby for a couple years he is back on track to be one of the best WR in the history of the NFL. His numbers so far this year could bring him MVP votes. Plus I would bet that most experts are looking to the Patriots to be in the Super Bowl again this year.
Now KG the only face the Twolves could ever be proud of having on their team. Sorry Pooh, Sam Mitchell, and Laetner. We had the chance to have a great team with him as the center point forever but now he is gone. The Celtics have built them a chance to contend. Everywhere I look I see that they are the most feared team in the East. The season will show us but the pattern is there.
How come so much pain has to be a part of being a Minnesota sports fan?

Ok Lets get started again!
First Congrats to Ryan "Big Deal" Carlson for getting the coveted Baseball Championship. Even while sending me a text saying "Im losing touch with baseball". I will be the first to say that better not happen. Now its October with the playoffs including a impossible run by both the Phillies and the Rockies. Not to mention the Cubs(everyone has to cheer for this team). Plus RCs fav team the Angels. Then it is that Hot Stove time where the Twins will be a major player. I think we can hold you into the game Ryan.
I will try and get something on here once a week. And remember anyone can post on here so please do. I need help to keep this going.
All stats are up to date as well.

Santana - Yankees (maybe)
What do you do? I think it was good to get something for Castillo but I think we should have made a move to get more power hitting, 3rd, or left field. Everyone needs pitching and we have an abundance so why not take a chance while these young guys stock is high to get some non-AAAers in our lineup. I must agree with Santana on this one. The Braves proved in the 90's you can get to the playoffs with pitching but that doesn't mean your going to win there. Scoring runs keeps you in the game. Like the Yankees this year so were the Mavericks of the early 90's just outscore people. Defense & Pitching are great but if your pitchers need to have less than 2 ERA what are your chances, really!!! Twins need to get realistic and start putting major leaguers back in the lineup instead of these A, AA, and AAA players. Soon we will be known as the KC Royals because we can't hit which means we will be looking like the mid-90's Twins. See below for Santana's take.
Johan Santana is the latest to question the Twins trade of Luis Castillo to the Mets.
The Twins ace told the Star Tribune this about management: "I'm not surprised. That's exactly how they are. That's why we're never going to go beyond where we've gone."
He didn't stop there, venting his frustrations at length and at one point saying "Why waste time when you're talking about something that's always going to be like that? It's never going to be beyond this point. It doesn't make any sense for me to be here, you know?"
The two-time Cy Young winner is a free agent after the 2008 season and the thrifty club figures to have a lot of trouble keping him around.

Say it aint so
we'll miss you KG. i am torn on this one. part of me says it is time to start over, the other hates to see the only face of the t-wolves leave us (no offense - randy brewer, pooh richardson, tony campbell, stoyko vrankovic and scottie brooks - we miss you too).
the wolves will be hard pressed to find another kevin garnett. he is a once in a lifetime player to come through your city. i feel fortunate to have been able to watch him night after night for this long.
lets hope he can go to beantown and win a ring. it may be easier for him to get to the playoffs and have success in the eastern conference, it will still be tough to win a championship.

Wow This is amazing!
PROSPECT WATCH: Top players down on the farm
Rick Ankiel, StL, OF (ETA – All-Star break) The Cardinals offense ranks 27th in the league in Runs and 21st in HRs so, after slugging three home runs on Saturday for the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds, will the Cardinals be so bold as to consider Ankiel for promotion soon? A once dynamic pitching prospect that was never able to overcome a mental implosion in the 2000 postseason, Ankiel has transformed himself into a power-hitting outfielder. He is tied for the Pacific Coast League lead in HRs (19) and is also sitting on a .282 BA and 52 RBI in 57 games. At 27 years old, it seems that, if the Cardinals are serious about him as a hitter, his shot as a big league hitter has to come soon. In a year when Josh Hamilton has made major league waves, an Ankiel call-up would be just another slice of feel-good pie.
That is some talent!

Belmont Final
With the only one to vote for the girl to win Cam pulled off the Belmont in big fashion. He picked 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 7th almost getting every horse right. Nice work. We had four no shows on this race Grant, Chet, Nate, and Nick. I have tabulated the scores and added them to the total standings you can find those on the side.
Congratulations to Eric for winning the 2007 Triple Crown. The trifecta was enough to easily take this years championship. Dale stayed consistent to finish in second place. And Cam finished strong to pull off third.
Trophy Standings are now updated as well

Two firsts this week
I got my first tattoo and it was great. It didnt hurt it was a little uncomfortable at times though, but it came out just as I hoped.

And at my 15th baseball game of this year Corey Hart the right fielder of the Brewers finally showed some respect and threw me a ball. I think the entire stadium went quiet when he turned picked me out of the crowd and threw a perfect strike to me. He gets ranked second on my fav Brewers list still behind Prince.

Baseball Minute
So here are some observations and thoughts from the past week or so in MLB. I am probably alone in thinking that ARods yell to get the Blue Jays 3B to drop the ball was a great move. That is somebody that wants to win!
What are some other plays in baseball that you consider not true to the game?
How about that steal of home! Aaron Hill getting Pettitte. That was great I wish that there were more of those exciting plays during games.
Twinkies sweep the White Sox and get praised by Ozzie that is nice. Who is this AJ guy that they talk about trying to step on Morneaus ankle. Didnt we trade him for Joe Nathan, Francisco Liriano, and Boof Bonser? Holy crap that could become one of the most lopsided trades of all-time. I think we can forget about the Herschel trade now.
A fantasy thought...
There are a lot better OF on the free agent list then some of the guys that are on teams.

We have a Trifecta!
Preakness results have been added to the standings.
Eric hit the trifecta correctly picking Curlin, Street Sense, and Hard Spun to finish 123
So he added to his lead in a big way.
Our picks together we had 8 out of 9.
Eric had four horses total also picking Xchanger at 8th. Chet and Matt each had three.
If you want all the result I can post them.
One more race to go!
